I bought this hoping it would help with mineral build up from our extremely hard city water supply, which it really does not. My husband did the application - it took him a moment or two to put the dispenser together but he did it and then declared it was easy enough. I purchased the Fresh Scent and it reeks like a gas station bathroom! We have 3 toilets in the house but no bathrooms have windows that open so the only ventilation is either the door or the exhaust fan. I had to close the door to the master bath because the scent was so strong that it left me rather nauseated and with a sore throat after using the bathroom during my nightly routine of washing my face & brushing my teeth. In the less than 10 minutes it took for me to finish, it had permeated the bedroom. I had to scrape off the gel in the master bath and open the bedroom window in order to sleep. The other bathrooms open to much larger spaces - a hallway and the main living area - so the concentration of the scent is mostly in the bathroom itself and seems less offensive. In the 5 days since applying the product, I don't see any difference in levels of clean and the gels are mostly gone. We're not very dirty people - just the two adults - and the toilets get cleaned weekly anyway.
My husband has not had such a negative reaction, but does agree about the industrial, chemical smell. I won't be buying this product again - I'll stick to my bowl brush and Clorox Green Works. I'm still searching for that magic product that doesn't need a haz-mat suit to use but can still clean mineral build-up.

cleans toilet great; easy to dispense and store. the odor is not offensive at all-it kills the toilet bowl odor which is the actual offender. i like entering a clean toilet.

I have been using this product for a few months now and I really like the citrus scent. I find with a 2 person household with guests on weekends that the gel does last the full week. It is not a replacement for regular cleanings, but it does help, especially with odors.

I liked the concept of this product, and the gel itself was fairly easy to apply (I do not have arthritis, but I don't have exceptional hand strength either.) I didn't have any problem with the gel coming off before a week, but I live in a 2 person household, so if you have more people using each toilet, it might not last as long.
My problem with this product is two-fold: it stinks and it doesn't work. I didn't realize that "citrus sent" meant "gas station bathroom scent." The smell was exceptionally strong and smelled very industrial, like a cheap public restroom. The scent lasts a long time and permeates the surrounding rooms, including my bedroom. I might have chosen to try the other scent if the gel had worked to keep my toilet bowl clean, but it doesn't.
I have city water, which is somewhat hard, and the gel does nothing to protect against hard water buildup. It also didn't clean up "splatters" that occur from regular use any more than additional flushes would have without the product. I used this product for 2 weeks, and the second gel didn't keep the bowl clean for even 24 hours, even after I scrubbed it with a toilet brush. My previous toilet bowl cleaner (clorox greenworks) kept the bowl cleaner for longer than that.
I do not plan to use the rest of the gel and have gone back to my previous cleaner, with better results.

I have arthritis in my fingers, and this is one of the hardest to use products I have tried. Takes a great deal of force to use the plunger. The cleaner works o.k., but I won't buy it again.
