........but not quite this odd. :)
I moved into my apt. a little over a year ago. Yes, it was nice and squeaky clean when I moved in but a few months later I started to develope some nasty brownish stains on the inside of my toilet. NO NOT THOSE KIND!!!
They may have been rust, hard water, calcium.....(sigh) I have no idea but NOTHING took them off.
Here are some of the remedies I tried.....
C.L.R.
Vinegar.
Lysol.
None of those worked so I decided to try the cheapy brand (The Works).
And........it worked.
I sprayed this around the bowl and wasn't very impressed by the blue runny liquid that came out. I was expecting something thick and gooey.
So after a grunt of disgust I just walked away and came back a few seconds later and to my utter and complete amazement the stains had already started to vanish. I hadn't even scrubbed yet!
So with a few swishes of the the toilet wand everything was gone. Poof, gone, just like that.
The Works rocks.
The best cleaner out there bar none.
Is it harsh?
Yes.
Who cares, it works. :)

Had difficult hard-water stains on the toilet that many products could not remove. This worked like a charm first time.
Con: The solution is thin...water-like consistency. If you are used to the thicker bowl cleaners, you are likely to sqeeze the bottle "too hard" causing quite a mess. The solution is caustic and can damage rugs and floors, so be *really careful* when squeezing.

Like some of the others who reviewed this product, I didn't have much expectations for "The Works". It didn't cost much and it came out as a watery liquid, unlike the other toilet cleaners that had a thicker type of liquid. But when I started scubbing the hard ring that had formed in the toilet, it started coming off. Now there is a faint stain line that is barely noticeable. This product did what the others couldn't do. Follow the instructions in using it, since it's a powerful formula.

I never write reviews, but this product is so unbelievable that I had to.
This stuff is magic. My toilet was completely covered in brown calcium deposits for a month. We tried the standard toilet bowl cleaners (Lysol, Lime Away, CLR) and none of them worked.
I first drained the water from the bowl (turning the water valve off and flushing the toilet will do this) and poured some of this stuff in(about three squeezes for my covered bowl, you might need less).
I waited about 30 seconds and ths stains came off with ease using a toilet brush.
Only $1.24 at my local Wal Mart.
